Enter your Master Password if asked.īecause the two settings are linked, if you turn off Touch ID from your app settings, the biometric recovery setting will also be turned off.Īdding a new fingerprint to the biometrics settings on your device or manually logging out from your device turns off the biometric lock and the biometric recovery settings automatically. You must complete two steps to be able to reset your Master Password with biometrics. To use biometrics to reset your Master Password, you must have previously enabled Use Touch ID and Biometric recovery in the Dashlane app settings. If you're a member of a Dashlane Business plan with single sign-on (SSO) enabled, this feature isn't available because you don't have a Master Password. If you were running older versions of the now unavailable Legacy apps, they might not have the "Legacy" label.Įveryone who has a device with Touch ID can reset their Master Password using biometric recovery. If you have both the Safari app and the old apps installed, clear any checkboxes labeled "Legacy" and select only the Safari app checkbox. 
The old apps are labeled Dashlane - Legacy and Dashlane for Safari - Legacy. If you have the Safari app, the app is listed as Dashlane.
In the window that opens, select Extensions. In the app menu, select Safari and then Preferences or Settings. 
To confirm that you have the Safari app installed and enabled, open your Safari Preferences or Settings, depending on your macOS version:
